Royal Air Force LGBT Community Consultation

RAF Equality and Diversity (E&D) and the LGBT Workstrand -
how the RAF engages with its gay front line

Royal Air Force - Per Ardua ad Astra

In order to support their development of the most appropriate personnel policy and E&D strategy as it affects the RAF's lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and transsexual (LGBT) community, PTC E&D staff have begun to meet regularly with a small cadre of serving personnel on a consultative basis; a mark of the Service's commitment to supporting its LGBT personnel. The meetings enable E&D staff to engage directly with the LGBT community, thereby improving PTC's ability to understand and deal with any community-specific areas of concern

It is hoped that the current arrangement will be enhanced by the proposed introduction of a working group/focus group consisting of a selection of gay personnel from across the ranks and trades of the RAF.
