AL1: Re-arranged for 27-28 January 2006 - see remainder of thread for details

The Royal Navy will host a 2 day conference/social/get together for its gay men and women at Amport House in Hampshire on 28th and 29th October. Amport House is a beautiful old country house owned by the Armed Forces, with extensive conference, hotel and social facilities. In addition to a couple of presentations and seminars, there will be an evening social, informal dinner together and bar. There is accommodation for up to 60 and you may bring your partners if you wish (and if I have space). The RNTM number is 142/05. This looks like being a cracking event, please book your spaces early (I already have 25 signed up). In mid September I will open spare places to Army and RAF. If you need any more detail please email me at ltcdrcraigjones@aol.com or call 07974 121893. Costs for attendance meals and accommodation will be very small (£10 service personnel and £20 civilian partners) and there will be transport from Portsmouth Unicorn Gate.

Hi Craig,
any chance of providing an update about the conference? A few people have been asking what the weekend will entail and how many people have asked to attend from across the services.

Hi everyone else
has anyone asked to attend? Hopefully the two of us will be travelling down.

RN L&G CONFERENCE - DATE CHANGE

There has been a fantastic response to this event, and we look forward to welcoming a broad range of people, not only from the RN but also some from our sister Services.

For various reasons (not least managing the commitments of some of our key organisers), we have decided to postpone the event until 27-28 January 2006. By doing so, we also have an opportunity to welcome speakers who will add significant sparkle to the weekend. We appreciate that the date change may preclude some who have already booked from attending, but very much hope that you will still be able to come - by the same token, many who were unable to attend in October will now be able to join us (not least many JMC participants).

There are a few places remaining for the Conference so feel free to encourage your friends - that includes those of you who haven’t sent in a booking form yet! We expect that there will be a waiting list, so if your plans change, let us know so your place can be given to someone else. To that end, please write, ring or email as soon as possible to confirm that you are still able to come. Worry not though, if you have already booked, your place(s) will be held until we hear from you one way or the other.

The event is now being jointly organised - feel free to get in touch with either of us if you have any questions or concerns. Our contact details are included below.

Full ‘joining instructions’ will be sent to you before Christmas and we will not cash your cheque until just before the event (don’t forget to leave a little in the bank to cover the cheque if you get carried away on the Christmas Spirits!). If you haven’t sent a cheque, please do so when you confirm your place.

There has been a superb response to what we know will be a fantastic first weekend together and we very much look forward to welcoming you at Amport in January.

i have just fininshed a course at amport house, i just wanted to say amport is a lovely old house set in its own spectacular grounds, if anyone is in 2 minds as to whether they should go to the conference in January i would highly recommend you go, you'll be amazed by the place and i'm sure it will be a good event, and yes it does have a cosy bar there! its 5 minutes from the A303 very easy to get to. i'm looking forward to it. i'd also be interested in any get togethers before then as well.

Joining Instructions

Joining Instructions for this event will be sent by email on Sun 18 Dec 05. If you believe you are registered for the event but do not receive an email from me with the Joining Instructions attached, then that's because we don't think you're coming. That could be for one of 3 reasons:

1. We don't have your email address and Joining Instructions are in the post.
2. There are no places left and you're on the reserve list.
3. We didn't get your registration form - there have been some problems with Service post, and some forms were not received at Northwood.

All that to say, if you think you are coming and haven't heard, please do email me to confirm.

See you at Amport.

Rolf[/i]

Joining Instructions Sent

Further to my posting before Christmas, Joining Instructions for the Conference at Amport House have now been sent to all attendees via internet email (ie not on CHOtS or DII). If you think you're coming but did not get my email, that's for one of 3 reasons:

1. Your original application didn't get through the post and I don't know about you, or;

2. The email address you provided me with was duff (I've had 1 non-delivery report), or;

3. My email went directly into your 'junk mail' folder (that's seems to have happened on some Hotmail accounts - how rude!).

If any of these are case, please contact me urgently at rolf@kurth.co.uk and I will confirm your attendance (or let you know if you're on the Reserve List) and email you the Joining Instructions (AGAIN).

See you in 2 weeks!

Rolf
