ARMED FORCES CONFERENCE FOR GAY AND LESBIAN PERSONNEL 2007

UNION JACK CLUB IN WATERLOO, LONDON

Intro. The conference for Armed Forces gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered personnel (Junior/Senior Rates and Officers) will be convened at The Union Jack Club, Waterloo on Fri 26 and Sat 27 Jan 07. The purpose of the 2-day event is to update personnel on developments in the RN diversity programme, to participate in presentations and workshops, and to provide an enjoyable social networking opportunity for personnel and their partners.

Sponsor. The Conference is being sponsored by the RN Diversity and Equality Policy Officer, Cdr G Beard (93832 5706) and by CPOPT M J Probee (9360 37401)

Timings. The conference will convene during the afternoon of Fri 26 Jan and disperse around midday on Sat 27 Jan. Attendance from Junior members of each of the Services is particularly encouraged.

Programme. The programme of events will include:

a. Briefings from Stonewall/Single service EO&D Representatives.

b. Interactive workshops to impart personal experiences and promote discussion.

c. Information concerning development of diversity policy and terms and conditions of service for those in registered partnerships.

d. An informal all-ranks social buffet dinner with guest speakers.

Attendance. Attendance is welcomed by the organisers from all ranks of the Armed Forces but in view of the numbers anticipated, early return of attendance forms would be appreciated. Partners may attend and participate but priority will be afforded to serving personnel. Details should be provided on the attendance form and allocation of partner places will be confirmed no later than 12 Jan 07.
