why do you need to authenticate logins?

We receive about 15-30 applications a day from fakes i.d's, and it is a constant task to control them. We aim to remove them when we have time but it can sometimes be a couple of days before we get chance to remove them. The fake i.d's are simply a means for companies to get their websites listed forums, and apart from auto registration, marketing companies are now paying their staff to register on such forums so the problem has become worse. As you will be aware if you apply for membership, no one is given access to the members only section of the site until we have authenticated them.
