Membership

Why will we make the private site forums exclusive to approved registered members? Well, this forum will provide a secure area where like minded servicemen can exchange advice, questions and information without worrying about who might be reading it. For this reason we will always ask for two 'character witnesses' from the existing member base to propose and second your membership to the members-only forum. The public forum is still exactly that, public for all.

About your contribution to this site:

- Profiles (to be added at a later date)

You have, or will supply personal details for your profile. We'd like to encourage you to use your real name but will not force you to make this public. However this is not gaydar or gay.com and we will ask you to choose a different name if its content is sexual. Use your real name if your are confident enough to. Tell us who you are and what you do. Rank has no meaning on here but if you choose to display it, good on you. Tell us about your leisure interests, maybe your secondary and additional duties that other people share an interest in. Tell us about your life journey and how your colleagues accept you. We don't want to know your vital stats - but you can put a link to profiles on other sites with that kind of info if you want.

Photographs. What helps a lot is if you include a photograph on your profile. It's a great show of support for the nature of proud2serve.net and our stance if you include a photo. Be in no doubt - we will not display it publicly or pass it to any third party without your explicit written consent.

Links to other profiles. This isn't a dating website, it's a professional networking area. However we acknowledge that this may be the only way you can get in contact with guys local to your station or base. So to that end you will be able to add links to your profiles on other sites like outintheuk.com, jaketm.org and gaydar.co.uk

- Forums

The forums are there for you. They will increase in value with the number and quality of contributions that you, the membership make. So please join up and visit the forum.

About your privacy

We appreciate as much as anyone that, no matter what civil and military law and codes of conduct may have to say on the subject, there are still colleagues out there who do not consider that all the Queen's men are equal. This is why your profile information will never be available except to registered users and even then only that information you choose to share.

Abuse

If we receive a justifiable complaint about a profile from any member of the proud2serve community we will remove it. If a forum posting is offensive, inappropriate or reported by another member we will remove it. There is a zero tolerance on abuse on proud2serve - there is enough abuse out there already.

Feedback

Yup, we need it for the site to develop and mature. So please provide some!

PS. This site is not written in accordance with JSP101 - The Manual of Defence Writing. So no double spacing and starting sentences with however, okay?
